Treat fungal nail infections with confidence
Accurate diagnosis and effective treatment to help restore healthy nails
Fungal nail infections are one of the most common nail conditions we see. They rarely clear on their own and can gradually become thicker, more discoloured and harder to treat over time. At Green Podiatry, we’ll identify whether a fungal infection is actually the cause of your nail changes and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you.
Get the right diagnosis before starting treatment
Not every thick or discoloured nail is caused by fungus. Nail trauma, psoriasis and other skin conditions can look very similar, which is why many people spend months trying treatments that never work.
Our experienced podiatrists will carefully assess your nails and, where necessary, arrange nail testing to confirm whether a fungal infection is present. Once we know exactly what we’re treating, we can create a personalised treatment plan that gives you the best chance of success.
Effective treatments tailored to you
There isn’t a single treatment that suits every fungal nail infection. The best option depends on how severe the infection is, how many nails are affected and your general health.
We can advise on the most effective topical antifungal treatments, discuss prescription medication where appropriate, and provide Nail Fenestration (Lacuna Method). This treatment involves creating tiny openings in the nail plate, allowing antifungal medication to reach the infection beneath the nail more effectively. Treatment is comfortable, minimally invasive and repeated as the healthy nail grows.
Healthy nails start with expert care
Fungal nails can affect confidence as well as comfort, but early treatment usually offers the best results. Whether you’ve only recently noticed changes or you’ve been struggling with the problem for years, we’re here to help.
Our team will explain your diagnosis, answer any questions and guide you through every stage of treatment, helping you achieve healthier nails with realistic expectations and ongoing support.
