Verruca’s are a notorious source of frustration for both Podiatrist and patient due to their unpredictable response to treatment. Some verrucae resolve after a couple of treatments, and some do not respond at all.
Professional assessment and personalised treatment
A verruca is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and usually develops on the soles of the feet or around the toes. While some verrucas disappear on their own, others can become painful, spread to other areas or simply refuse to go away.
During your appointment, we’ll examine the affected area to confirm it is a verruca and discuss the most appropriate treatment for you. We consider factors such as how long it has been present, its size, your activity levels and any underlying health conditions before recommending a treatment plan.

We offer several treatments for verrucae, including acid therapy, cryotherapy, and Falknor’s needling, all of which aim to stimulate your body’s own immune system to fight the virus.
